Clemson Downs of Clemson, South Carolina, contracted with JDPR and Windham Designs to strategically formulate a branding, advertising, public relations and communications campaign to freshen up the dated image of its retirement community.

Clemson Downs has been serving the Clemson community and residents with quality retirement living, wellness and health care for over 35 years. Their latest capital improvement campaign was directed to expand their service offerings by providing additional skilled nursing rooms and a state-of-the-art memory care facility to better serve their residents.

Creative Solutions

Clemson Downs is unique in that it was built by retiring professors of Clemson University. Clemson, South Carolina, is a unified community that has a lot to offer retirees. In addition, Clemson Downs’ broad spectrum of services allows individuals and couples to enter into, and progress along, any level of the aging process.

When we began our work, Clemson Downs was undergoing a major capital development project to build a new memory care facility. With completion of this new building, they would have the ability to provide full service retirement support, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and, now, memory care.

The logo’s colors pull from the pride of the Clemson University community and exude energy and wellness. The overlapping four petals of the lotus flower abstractly represent Clemson Downs’ four pillars of support: independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care. The vibrancy of the logo represents the vitality of its residents, employees and community lifestyle.

In addition to the logo, we provided a comprehensive sales and marketing packet that is made up of individual brochures for each of their service sectors. This empowers their marketing team with the flexibility to custom tailor each packet for the unique needs and opportunities of perspective residents.

We redesigned the website to reflect the new branding. We rearranged the site map to better promote the individual services and pulled on testimonials from the residents to show off and promote Clemson Downs’ energetic community and its professional and trusted employees.

Results

Clemson Downs successfully booked all the rooms of their new facility in record time and has been recognized by civic groups and community leaders for their new image.
